SCCC Delamere Ride 2015

SCCC Delamere Ride 2015

Sunday 10th May was the SCCC Delamere Ride 2015 which started and finished in Frodsham and went out to Delamere for lunch. It was a slightly blustery day but at least it was dry and not too cold. We set off and went out through Alvaney, climbing out of Frodsham on a rather steep hill.

As we approached Delamere down a track, one of the group got a puncture, which delayed us slightly. However quickly John sprang into action and it was soon sorted out!

Lunch was the the Delamere Station Cafe after 16 miles – always a good place to stop. Not the cheapest cafe but good portions of good food.

After lunch we headed back to Frodsham using the road through Delamere Forest

The ride itself was about 26 miles and most of it was rolling, so plenty of climbing but that also meant good views! You can see the route for the ride that we did below:

Andy, Neil and myself (although there were also others in a different group) who cycled to Frodsham before the ride and then home again afterwards. By the time we got home again, Andy and I had cycled 85 miles. It was certainly good training for our upcoming JOGGLE trip from John o’Groats to Lands End but I think more training is needed!
