E2E Day 11 – Lancaster to Windermere

E2E Day 11. Following the tough day in to the winds yesterday, today offered a more leisurely ride. Not so many miles (just 37 of them), not alot of wind blowing, the chance of more great scenery, a BBQ in the evening, and a rest day tomorrow.

And so it proved. It was a relatively leisurely ride all day. The first 10 miles out of Lancaster for instance were canal based.

We stopped at Milnthorpe and Kendal for lunch.

The only downside was that Sarah felt extremely tired all day. Finding enough carbs in her gluten free meals is proving difficult.
Thankfully we had Josh (Andy L’s son) riding with us today and he very kindly took on the task of carrying Sarah’s panniers.

In the evening James’s family put on a fantastic BBQ for us. Enough food for us to eat for a week. Later on the guys watched the Champions League final, and the women …nattered.

As I say, tomorrow is a rest day. If the view from Windermere YHA terrace is anything to go by we are all going to thoroughly enjoy being here.
