This Clyde to Forth 2021 itinerary outlines the cycle route myself, Sarah, Andy S and Mike will be following in autumn 2021. We will be cycling from Gourock to Edinburgh. 

The route starts at Gourock, a port on the Firth of Clyde, and follows a predominantly traffic-free route into Glasgow via Paisley. Upon reaching Bells Bridge in Glasgow city centre it then follows a traffic-free path traffic-free path along the Clyde.

From there, it then goes to Edinburgh via Airdrie, the Bathgate Railway Path, the Water of Leith Walkway and the Union Canal towpath.

Day 1 – Glasgow to Greenock

Travel to Glasgow.
Cycle from Glasgow to Greenock (Daily distance: 25 miles).
Stay at Greenock Premier Inn, Greenock.

Day 2 – Gourock to Glasgow

Cycle from Greenock to Gourock.
Then begin the Clyde to Forth tour by cycling from Gourock to Glasgow (Daily distance: 35 miles – Clyde to Forth: 35 miles).
Stay at Glasgow Pacific Quay Premier Inn, Glasgow.

Day 3 – Glasgow to Falkirk

Cycle from Glasgow to Falkirk (Daily distance: 32 miles – Clyde to Forth: 67 miles).
Stay at Falkirk East Premier Inn, Grangemouth.

Day 4 – Falkirk to Edinburgh

Cycle from Falkirk to Edinburgh (Daily distance: 39 miles – Clyde to Forth: 106 miles).
Stay at Edinburgh Leith Waterfront Premier Inn, Edinburgh.
