Due to the engineering works on the train line, there were to be no weekend trains but a replacement bus service. Unfortunately we could not take our bikes on the replacement buses and so had to find an alternative way of getting to the start. After breakfast (at YHA Berwick) we waved goodbye to Neil and Des – they were getting a morning train home. However we had most of the day to look around Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Coast and Castles South Day 8. Today was our final day of cycle touring as we completed the final section of the Coast and Castles South route back down to Berwick-Upon-Tweed. We began the day by leaving the Royal Mackintosh Hotel at Dunbar and picking up NCN Route 76. We would follow this route for most of the day. We stopped for a coffee at Pease Bay.
