Goyt Valley Grinder – our modified version

Goyt Valley Grinder – our modified version

The Goyt Valley Grinder is a route originally spotted by Andy S on the Peaks & Puddles website. It is a cycle route exploring the Goyt Valley reservoirs which are reached by pleasant canals and scenic back roads. We decided to have a go at it … with a few amendments. It was a warm September day when we met at Marple Memorial Park. You’ll notice there aren’t too many photos of me … probably because I was taking all…

Whaley Loop

Whaley Loop

We met at Torkington Park for this Whaley Loop cycle ride. We have had some fantastic weather recently, but this week the weather has been more changeable, and today it was raining. We were promised a day of mixed weather when we met in Disley. Sarah was due to back-lead this ride. However, she has been struggling with pain in the foot, which has increasingly become acuter. After…

Walk around Toddbrook Reservoir

Walk around Toddbrook Reservoir

We parked in Whaley Bridge in the car park near the River Goyt. We started out along Reservoir Road. On the right there was a little lake, Brookfield Nature Pond, which was frozen over. We had a look out across Toddbrook Reservoir before continuing on along the road.  …
