This Saturday’s Stockport Community Cycling Club ride was along the Longdendale Trail which runs alongside a number of reservoirs. The Longdendale Trail also forms part of NCN Route 68 and therefore the Pennine Cycleway which a number of us had completed a few years previously. Pennine Cycleway Day 4 – Alston to Orton

Pennine Cycleway – Day 4 took us from Alston to Orton. We had stayed overnight at the Youth Hostel in Alston. They have red squirrels in the trees behind the hostel. Pennine Cycleway Day 3 – Bellingham to Alston

Today on Pennine Cycleway – Day 3 we cycled from Bellingham to Alston. Bellingham Bunkhouse was a good place to stay. The ride started with a big climb – a theme for the day! As we reached Keilder Forest, we found some interesting scarecrows. Once past Keilder,  we crossed over Hadrian’s Wall. We stopped at Haltwhistle for lunch.
