JOGLE Reflections – The View from the Van

JOGLE Reflections – The View from the Van

As most of you already know we undertook the iconic cycle ride JOGLE (John O’Groats to Lands End) in June 2015 but this relates to the view from the van. Due to the fact that I broke two bones in my foot a few weeks before hand, it meant that I wouldn’t be able to cycle after all – a huge disappointment as it had been planned for over a year beforehand! As Nicholl would be driving a crew van,…

JOGLE Reflections

JOGLE Reflections

A week has gone now since we finished our epic 950 mile cycle tour from John o’Groats to Land’s End. It seems a long time ago already and yet the memories are thankfully still fresh. JOGLE Day 15 – Okehampton to Perranporth

JOGLE Day 15 – Okehampton to Perranporth

JOGLE Day 15, the penultimate day of our cycle tour always looked like being one of the most challenging days. In the event it certainly lived up to its reputation as we continued to make our way through the Devon and Cornwall hills. Leaving Sourton Cross Travelodge we left Dartmoor and made our way towards Lifton. And on towards Launceston. Our support team, Sarah and Nic, had already arrived and having a look around came upon the mayor officially opening a…

JOGLE Day 14 – Taunton to Okehampton

JOGLE Day 14 – Taunton to Okehampton

There is always a dilemma when cycling an end-to-end – do you start with the Devon and Cornwall hills when the legs are fresh, or finish when the legs are stronger? We of course are finishing in Cornwall, and this was the first of three days in the Devon and Cornwall hills. The finish line may be in sight but there are still plenty of hills to climb. JOGLE Day 14 certainly proved this to be the case! Leaving Taunton it was…
