Davenham

This ride to Davenham, which Leslie called a ‘Cheshire meander’ was the first Stockport Community Cycling Club ride she has led. We met in a layby near the Chelford roundabout on a cool and pleasant Autumn Sunday morning. There was a healthy turnout of club members. Our route began by heading down Peover Lane towards Peover Heath. We then cycled through Blackden Heath and towards Goostrey. We joined NCN Route 573. In Goostrey, we took a short break by the local…

Delamere 2016 – Or Not Quite Cotebrook Again

Delamere 2016 – Or Not Quite Cotebrook Again

Sunday’s Delamere 2016 ride was a late addition to the Stockport Community Cycling Club ride calendar due to one of our colleagues being unable to lead a new ride he had planned. Middlewich – Back in the Saddle Again

Middlewich – Back in the Saddle Again

Finally, after what seemed an eternity, for Sarah a ride to Middlewich on Sunday afternoon represented the opportunity to get back in the saddle again following her broken foot (which had happened just before the club ride to Middlewich strangely enough!). The Stockport Community Cycling Club ride this weekend had been a long…

Not Quite Cotebrook

Not Quite Cotebrook

For ride leaders, probably the most difficult part of planning a ride is finding somewhere suitable for a lunch stop. The latest Stockport Community Cycling Club ride to Cotebrook certainly lived up to this. Sarah was down to lead this ride. Since it was Mother’s Day we decided that our usual lunch stop for the ride Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre would be too busy to accommodate our longer ride numbers, usually around 15-16 riders, so we decided to look for…

Foxwist Green Ride

Foxwist Green Ride

Sunday 10th November was the Stockport Community Cycling Club eXtra ride to Foxwist Green. The eXtra rides tend to be slightly longer than normal Sunday rides. This week we met in the car park near to Wilmslow Leisure Centre. It was a chilly but bright morning. We left Wilmslow and cycled off down to the new(ish) Alderley Edge bypass and cycled along the cycle path there. About half way along we turn off near Nether Alderley and headed along along…
