Woodbank Park

Woodbank Park

The weather is changing. As jackets are back, we are now clearly moving from summer to autumn, and meeting at Woodsmoor for this Stockport Community Cycling Club ride out to Woodbank Park was a chilly eye opener That said, while it was a cool morning, the weather was fine, and it promised to warm up later in the day. Our route began by leaving Woodsmoor along Moorland Road. Then heading over to Offerton. In Offerton, we cut through the passageway…

Chadkirk 2016

Chadkirk 2016

I told Andy that I didn’t want to go – but he just laughed at me. We set off anyway and cycled to the starting point of the SCCC ride, which for Saturday was Longdendale. Our ride to the official starting point was 15.4 miles for…

PUMA Stockport 10 2013

The day was rather overcast and chilly as we arrived at the stadium in Woodbank Park for the PUMA Stockport 10 2013 race, organised by Stockport Harriers. Neither of us had been to the track before. Our first port of call was the tent to collect our race numbers. This race is rather different to the Conwy Half Marathon in that race is not such a serious business. There was a fabulous commentator there called ‘Tom Potson’ who provided a…
