A Blowy Cycle Ride to Ashley

A Blowy Cycle Ride to Ashley

Having missed last Sunday’s cycle ride to Birtles due to a sore ankle, things were beginning to improve for Sarah and this weekend she was up for this one. We chose a flattish route out to Ashley, hopefully, to minimise the stress that might be placed on the ankle when climbing hills. Unfortunately, the stress of pushing hard on the peddles would come in another form – cycling into a headwind. It was, thankfully, warmer weather when we set off…

Lymm and High Legh

Lymm and High Legh

Neil had put together this route for our latest COVID-19 lockdown cycle ride. Starting from Bramhall, it would take us into Cheshire to Lymm and High Legh. Plantation 2018

Plantation 2018

SCCC Tatton Park 2017

SCCC Tatton Park 2017

Sunday was the annual SCCC Tatton Park ride, the last ride of 2017. I had been due to lead the ride but having been unwell for most of December, Andy volunteered to lead it in my place. I swapped with Neil, who was due to be the back leader and he instead became Andy’s wing man and was chief corner marker. We met up in the car park for Gatley Station. There were 23 of us altogether. We left Gatley…

SCCC High Legh Ride

SCCC High Legh Ride

Sunday was the SCCC High Legh Ride. It is not a ride that we have done for a few year but which started from Gatley Railway Station. We soon picked up the part of the route that we had used the previous day of the Manchester Airport Afternoon ride. Having passed the edge of the airport and been through the tunnels under the runway, we turned off and headed out towards Ashley. We turned off just before Tatton Park to…
