Scottish C2C

Scottish C2C

Our final cycle tour of 2016 took place in late Autumn when we tackled the Scottish C2C. We undertook this cycling adventure with two of our Stockport Community Cycling Club friends Andy S and Andy S! (Yes, 4 Andy’s – 3 official ones plus 1 guest 🙂 )

From the creators of the original Sea-to-Sea (C2C), this is a new cycle route through the Southern Uplands of Scotland, from coast to coast.

Sustrans describe this as ‘Linking Annan on the Solway Firth and South Queensferry on the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, the Scottish C2C is a 125 mile signed cycle route. It is a mix of country lanes, high-quality cycle paths and seaside promenades with two challenging climbs, over the classic Devils Beef Tub and through the Moorfoot Hills before opening out onto a panoramic view of the Lothians, Edinburgh Castle, and the Firth of Forth. It finishes under the mighty Forth Bridge.’

Our journey started in Carlisle. From here we cycled to the start at Annan. Then stopped at Moffat, Peebles and Edinburgh on our way to the Forth Bridge.
