SCCC Didsbury Ride

SCCC Didsbury Ride

I opened the front door this evening to go out for the SCCC Didsbury ride and was very surprised to see the rain bouncing down! I have to admit to being tempted to whimp out and stay home in the dry! I did phone Andy and ask him what he had done to the weather (I was sure it must have been his fault!). However Neil was leading his first club ride and we needed to go and support him. By the time I actually left it had almost stopped and by the time we reached the starting point, near the pyramid in Stockport, it has stopped raining and the sun came out, along with part of a rainbow.

We cycled along the River Mersey for a while.

Then headed off along the back roads through Burnage and Heaton Mersey before heading back to the start.

The route was 9.72 miles. The following link should take you to a map of the route – SCCC Didsbury Ride at Garmin Connect.

It was a lovely ride (very well led by Neil I thought). Next week will be the last Wednesday night ride of the summer!
