I love getting out on my bike and cycling down Cheshire country lanes on a warm summer Sunday. Even better, I enjoy cycle touring and the chance to cycle down country lanes I haven’t explored before. Another thing I love about cycling is that there is a type to suit everyone. That might mean just the commute to work, or it could be the cycle touring we mainly talk about here, or it could be the adrenalin rush of mountain biking, or even following in the footsteps of Bradley Wiggins and road racing.

Now I am not a big fan of mountain biking, but I always have a great time when I try it, it’s so different to the cycling I normally do.

So recently the chance for a bit of mountain biking around Hayfield was just too good an opportunity to be missed.

We live in an urban area on the edge of Manchester, but what these photos show is the fantastic scenery that is right here on our doorstep. Lantern Pike is on the edge of the Peak District, and it”s just up the road. So let’s get out there and enjoy it!
