Hadrian’s Cycleway

We undertook our Hadrian’s Cycleway tour in summer 2013. Our tour started at Ravenglass and went all the way across to South Shields. Along the way, we followed the Solway Firth around to Carlisle and then continued over the Pennines through Hadrian’s Wall country and on to Tynemouth. Finally, we crossed the River Tyne and cycled over to the official finish at Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields.

Sustrans says the Hadrian’s Cycleway route “stretches the length of Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site in the North of England.
