Coast and Castles North

Coast and Castles North

Coast and Castles North was our third and final tour of 2017. It began in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, and the finish of our 2013 Coast and Castles South tour. The route followed NCN Route 1 and crosses the Firth of Forth into the Kingdom of Fife with its beautiful countryside. Along the way, there were stunning views of sweeping beaches and romantic ruined castles, as it followed the coast north passing through fishing villages and historic sites, such as Dunnottar Castle, on its way to the Granite City of Aberdeen.

On this tour, Sarah and I were joined by the two Andy’s from Stockport Community Cycling Club again. Indeed, this was our third tour as a team, following the Scottish C2C and Way of the Roses 2017. We were also joined by tour ‘newbie’ John.

At the end of the tour, Sarah and I then cycled on to Midmar to spend a few days with her cousin. All in all, it was another exciting trip.
