Glow 2021 at RHS Garden Bridgewater

Glow 2021 at RHS Garden Bridgewater

It’s time to Glow! So says the RHS. Sarah and I recently visited the RHS Garden Bridgewater during the daytime. However, Glow 2021 was the first time RHS Garden Bridgewater has put on this winter evening show. It enables visitors to see the garden in a whole new light. RHS advertised the event as a chance to ‘see the garden sparkle this festive season and follow dazzling displays lighting a magical trail.’ Visitors follow a set path around a selection…

Castle Fraser

Castle Fraser

Following yesterdays walk up Green Hill, the second walk of our Aberdeenshire weekend would take us around the estate of Castle Fraser. Entering the courtyard, you are met with a Georgian country house built by William Adam…

The castle was originally built in the 13th century.  However,…

Hanbury Hall and Gardens

Hanbury Hall and Gardens

Following an enjoyable few days in Boscombe, Sarah and I journeyed home. On our way home we took a detour to Hanbury Hall and Gardens in Worcestershire. The Vernon’s beginnings were as rectors of Hanbury parish. Gradually they grew in importance, becoming one of the most prominent families in Worcestershire. They…
