A Chadkirk Bridge That Wasn’t Too Far

A Chadkirk Bridge That Wasn’t Too Far

The first Stockport Community Cycling Club Saturday ride of the year was titled Chadkirk Bridge and led by Graham. We met up at Torkington Park on a very cold morning, and in spite of the cold and the national forecast for the day 20+ club members still decided to brave the weather. Since the ride involved stretches of road Graham decided to break us up in to smaller groups. He asked Sarah and I to lead one of the groups. Thankfully when Graham explained the proposed route we were familiar enough with it to be able to take on the challenge.

We began by working our way through the back streets of Hazel Grove.

We made our way over to the Chadkirk Country Estate.

We picked up the Middlewood Way and followed that to Poynton.

We dropped in to Poynton village and selected various cafes. Sarah and I chose Cafe 31.

After the coffee break we all joined up again and cycled around the back of Poynton and Bramhall.

Finally we came back through Woodsmoor and Stepping Hill and back again to Torkington Park.

We had cycled 17 miles. A cold but thoroughly enjoyable ride. Thanks very much Graham.
